JJEU Board ELECTIONS in Genoa - deadline for candidature is March 10, 2012

As indicated in the JJIF Board Minutes of January 2012 and already published in this site, this year is an election year, both at the level of the Continental Unions, and at the level of the JJIF. According to the Statutes, the JJEU Elections General Assembly will be held on the day prior to the European Championship in Genoa (May 10, 2012). Also according to the Statues, the candidates for the positions in the Continental Union/JJIF Boards must submit their candidacies at least 3 months before the day of the elections. This would mean that the deadline for candidacies for JJEU Board was February 10, 2012.

However, due to multiple issues, such as the low number of working members on the JJEU Board, communication problems, e-mail/Internet issues, the deadline for the JJEU Board elections has passed before the JJEU Board/General Secretary had a chance to send out to the countries the Invitation for the Elections General Assembly.

Because of this situation, the JJEU and JJIF Board are sending out this appeal to the JJEU member countries to remember that elections will be held on May 10, 2012, for all positions on the Board. The deadline for submitting the candidacies has been reduced in this exceptional situation (and due to prepared changes of JJEU Statutes) to March 10, 2012.

Also please note: the candidature must be supported with short CV and a support of National Federation. The candidates should apply for all positions within the Board they are interested in. The candidate not elected for one position is not automatically candidate for another position is this has not been indicated in the candidature already.

The positions to be elected by JJEU GA are:
JJEU President
JJEU Vice-president
JJEU Treasurer
JJEU General Secretary
JJEU Auditors Committee (for this committee candidates may be presented directly at the GA).

We kindly ask all candidates to send their applications both to Mr. Robert Perc, JJEU GS, and to Mrs. Dana Murgescu, JJIF GS. Candidatures already received are valid.

It is also expected that further more JJEU GA gives the new JJEU Board mandate to nominate and appoint technical members to the Board and Committee Directors (and other responsibilities) for the future. This will be done after the constitution of the new Board. The proposal of JJEU Statutes will be presented also after March 10, together with the information of the candidates for various positions in the board. In principle no significant changes are proposed but mostly to harmonize JJEU Statutes with the JJIF one.

Candidates for future championships are also wellcome to present their candidature at the GA as we must prepare future big events calendar - National Federationa are kindly asked to indicate this to the JJEU GS before the GA.
